When using my jessop flashgun last night it started going off randomly even though I wasn't touching the camera , has anyone got a clue what mayhave happened , oh! If I turned it off it wasfine
 
Sounds like the contacts were short circuiting. Is the flash gun dedicated to the make of camera you are using via iTTL. If gun is for say Canon and you are using Nikon the contact layout is different and it could result in such problems.
 
ive had issues with my first one (since replaced for new unit), as originally had issues with flash playing catch up..... i'd request the flash, the shot would get taken then the flash would illuminate after.....

with the 2nd unit i was advised to get some high 2700mah batteries which charge up the flasher quicker and has eliminated any random/delayed flash timings
