Hello. Im looking at buying a flash gun but is it worth buying a non big-brand flash gun to save the money? Im really not wanting to pay £100 + for a flash gun. Any recommendations and will I get a wireless one for under £50? I won't be using it professionally.

The Yongnuos are generally well regarded. Take a look at reviews on the YN-460II and the YN-560II / YN-565EX.

Depending upon your requirements (full manual or TTL) they should fit the bill and should be more than enough if just starting out with flash.

I personally have recently started with flash and I bought a 2nd hand Canon 430EX as my main light which was £90 I think in mint condition, and I have now bought a pair of Yongnuo YN-460s which were £20 for the pair second hand (bargain!).
 
Not tried any flash photography on cars, but I have with similar objects and as long as you use diffusers it seems to cut down on any bad reflections while giving nice even light.
I've got a Canon 580EX II and a Nissin Di866 which arre wireless enabled but too expensive, however the Nissin Di622 MkII (similar to the 430EX II) is also wireless enabled and can be got for around £90-100, and is a very good flash for the price. I bought one for the wife not long ago for her 550D and I occasionally borrow it for a wireless setup. Also, using a polarizing filter cuts down on reflections as well, which would help.

Why? I used to use flash for many car shots. What you don't want to do is light up the number plate etc but that's nota reason not to use flash
 
I've got the nissin di622 mark ii which I managed to pick up from eBay for £65 a couple of months ago. I don't know much about flash but it does everything I need it to at the moment.
