Flash, is it worth upgrading

Hi

I have a Sunpak PF30X flash which has been updated with the latest firmware

I have a really important party coming up which I would like to photograph. I have been toying with the idea of getting a 430ex ii flash, what benefits if any would I notice over my current flash

just learn to use it in manual and bounce the flash im sure it will do the job fine.
one you know how to do it properly you will use it alot more.
