Flash - Nissin Vs Speedlight

I have a Nissin Di644 (edit I mean Di622 :thinking:) and its a great flash but sometimes using it I wonder

"Would a speelight have done that better...?"

So just a question for anyone who has tried both flashes ( I dont want people saying the speedlights are just BETTER because they are Nikon) is the Nikon flashes better than the Nissin flashes ?


Would I notice a huge difference as the price seems to show

The Di622 does everything the Sb600 does.
Cant comment on the Di644 as I cant even find a model called that only the Di466 which is very basic.
 
I had the Sb-800 and the only thing the Di622 doesnt so that it did is repeating strobe. The SB800 was over £300, the Di622 was £90!
The Nikon may be very slightly better built, but the Nissin isnt exactly flimsy.
As You can see on my sig, I now have two di622's and one di622 MkII.

Well that's good to know thanks.....

I reckon I need to use my Nissin better as sometimes (not to often) I blow out an image when using it on TTL mode. Probably a setting somewhere that I have wrong :thinking:


Have you seen any guides online for them ?

Will the Di622 work with the Nikon SU800 wireless commander?

SB800 is also a remote commander unit, isn't it? And it also does high speed FP sync - very useful feature for fill-in flash outdoors. You need the Nissin Di866 to do all that.
