Yes
have just started working on me new site and am mulling over whether to go with flash which looks good!
www.mickhall-photos.com

or stick with html which more people can access
ie- iphones ipad etc etc

what do you think????

if you really must use it, leave the flash for slideshows and use html for everything else, certainly dont build a whole site in it

my personal pref. is HTML for everything, and using javascript - well jQuery to be specific for any effects, but built in such a way the markup is valid and degrades nicely

:thumbs:think you may be right karl although i like the look it the issue of people not being able to use it which worries me people with ipads and iphones etc

don't know quite what I did, but was randomly clicking around your site and it crashed my browser lol there's an argument against flash if I've ever heard one.

from what I did see, most of what's on your site could be done in javascript and html with a bit of thought

Cant stand flash websites, I tend to right click links open new tabs etc, which just doesn't work in flash. Plus compatibility issues with portable devices and older computers. Id stick to html.

My site is 100% flash. I ran a 6 month experiment whereby I had a splash page and gave people an option of entering the flash site or an html site. I had less than 5% of all my visitors choose the html site, so I ended up ditching it.

out of interest did you offer flash first then html underneath or to the right of it?

I have this theory that when people don't care they always click the first option
