flash recomendations

Following my recent purchase of a canon 1000d i`d like a flash with the option to bounce it off ceilings etc ,presently i`ve a budget of £40.00 obviously i won`t get an all singing and dancing one for that price if at all your thoughts and recomendations would be greatly appreciated,Harvey

Get yourself a Yongnuo.

If you can stretch to a YN-465 model or above they will give you on camera TTL mode as well as off camera manual mode (latter mode requires wireless triggers)

You'll get very little for £40. As Stuart says a YongNuo YN-465 is your best bet, but even so you'd need to find another £20-30 to buy one of those. Your current budget would only get you a manual (no TTL) YN-460 or, at a push, the newer YN-460-II, although even one of those would probably have to come from a Hong Kong seller on Ebay.

Hi Harvey,

I can recommend the Jessops 360AFD. They're £79 new, but they're selling 2nd hand on here and on eBay within your budget. I bought a used on here for £45 and I love it.
