Flash recommendations for EOS 70D

I was just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a Flash unit for the EOS 70D. I very rarely use the inbuilt flash but it would be good to have an option for when I am shooting in low light conditions. I know the Canon Speedlight range are very good but they also come with a fairly hefty price tag for something I don't plan on using that often. My friend has a Yongnuo which he says is quite good.

Also I'm aware that there are some new LED style flash units coming out now - again, anyone recommend anything in this range?

I use an sc28 cord with the sb30 flash cheap and very effective, better than having a flashgun stuck on top the camera all the time though mines a Nikon set up but should do it for canon

Picked up a second hand 430exii for something like £150 on here. But get an equivalent Yongnuo and you'll pay less that half that for a new unit.
