Looking for some advise on a flash, I am new to photography and recently took some nice shots at a friends wedding, however I only have the flash on the camera and now see that I really need a proper flash, could anyone advise on a good flash for a maximum budget of £100, what features do I need to look for? Like I say I'm new to this and learning all the time, any advise is welcomed.

The main features to look out for are a tilt and swivel head, and some form of manual control over the output. The tilt and swivel allows you to 'bounce' the flash off surfaces like walls and ceilings to create a softer light, therefore reducing harsh shadows while manual control (or exposure compensation) can help with a more natural balanced look.
Buying new, it seems models such as the Metz 44, nissin di 622 or sigma ef 610 might do the job, albeit they're just over budget or there is a sunpak pz 42x at around £100. I've also seen some other stuff by yonguo (check the spelling!) which might be ok but I know nothing about ghat company.
 
In the end I put more money in and opted for the canon speedlite 430ex ll, and really glad I did, what a difference already

Money well spent!
I upgraded from a yongnuo flash to the Canon 430 ex II and I don't regret it for pure performance, functionality and consistency.

You will not regret your purchase.
 
I recently got a Nissin Di622 for the wife to go with a 550D. It's a tremendous flash, very bright on full power and has a quick refresh time. I got it off ebay for £95 in november when I got a 580EX II for myself at the same time. The price of the 580 has gone up drastically since though. I paid £302 for mine brand new and the same place is now selling them at £399, don't know about the Nissin though as I haven't checked.

Anything you have left over money wise put to good batteries makes the world of difference on recycle times.
