hi everyone ..new to useing flash guns really but i picked uop today quite cheap a centon fh80 which seems quite nice with the swivel head ..but ..i thought it would fit the nikon however ive been told its a cannon fitment..is there a device that i can adapt the flash to fit the nikon...you have 4 terminals on the bottom but 1 terminal is the wrong side ..any help would be great

It might work in basic manual mode, but you'll probably find they don't 'talk' to one another all that well...
It's better to get either a dedicated flash from the same manufacturer, or a third-party flash designed for a particular make...

Not sure on the specifics of the flash you have, but be careful if it's an older flash unit as they can cause damage to newer DSLRS due to the trigger voltage required to fire them.

Not sure on the adapter to be honest - I've never seen one, although years ago flash manufacturers used to make generic flash heads with slot on adaptors for the different brands of camera. I have a Cobra 700AF somewhere which is like that.

ah right well i dont want it damaging my camera ..il think il just loose it lol...i should have asked him to hold it rather than buy it then check cheers guys

Dont chuck it yet - there's a website (I'll try and find the link) which gives guidance on what different flash trigger voltages are, and details on how to check it. You may still be able to use it off camera, which will give better results anyway.

Flash trigger voltages.

lol dont panic i havent yet lol il take a look at that site cheers
