flashgun recharge speed

hi all,is there anyway i can speed up the recharge rate on my flashgun?
its not a new one with an lcd display but it has 2 sliders.
1 for iso and 1 for meters/feet if this makes any difference?
would different batterys effect the rate,im using new duracell`s at the mo,1500`s.

Try a set of rechargeables, the 2100mAh Eneloops or a set of regular 2700mAh ones will help

Easiest way is to raise the ISO or lower the f/number, and cut the power output. If that doesn't deliver enough light, then add another gun. That's the idea behind twin flash brackets.

Or you can get battery packs for some top end guns, that can halve the recharge time. Hot shoe guns don't like being hammered flat out for long though, they either shut down, or melt

Funny. I read somewhere recently, may have been on TP, (can't remember) that Duracells are better than rechargeables for recycling times.

Think Arkady posted something on this on a thread about a Nykon speedlite?
