Flashgun stands

Does anyone know if these are done ?
Was thinking instead of attaching to camera could be attached to a portable stand like the type soft boxes are attached to .

Yes eBay is the best option for a flashgun stand its pretty much a normal light stand with a hot shoe mount

Some flashes/speedlights are supplied with plastic hotshoe type stands, often with tripod screw sockets in the bottom - if you have one of these and an old, cheapo tripod, Bob's yer uncle!

Konig stands are very popular, great value at £11. I've got several. Not the biggest or strongest, but fine for smaller stuff.

If your flash came with a little stand, it probably has a 1/4in hole underneath that will just screw on, but you can't point the head down with that. Any 'umbrella adapter' will do, these little ball jobbies are good for light stuff, available most places for under a tenner
