I Want to buy my first ever flash gun, budget isn't great to be honest just wondered if the wonderfully knowledgable people on here could help me as I have seen this one on amazon and wondered if it was any good

Have a look at the Nissin Di622 flashgun. It's a well made, fully featured and very capable flash unit. Works TTL and can be set as wireless slave for off camera flash as well. I bought a Canon version in november and it's brilliant for the price. You can find them neew for around £95 and cheaper second hand if you can find them.

Really? It's a very popular flashgun, the SB400, on the other hand is a completer waste of money....

You can't go wrong with yongnuo strobes for the price. Great value.

That or a Nissin, if buying a YongNuo make sure it's from somewhere with a decent returns policy though, as whilst on the whole the flashguns are good they have an annoying habit of shipping dead ones from the factory...
