I don't use it, which is why I'm asking, but If you have a Flickr account can you disable the download option? It looks like you can, but does it matter if it's a Pro account or not? Just wanted to double check.
Thanks :)

Yes, but it's not the best photo-sharing solution for preventing download.. mostly due to the compromises necessary to make it so flexible as a site for hosting/sharing images. But no host/website can prevent downloading at display resolutions, the Print Screen key makes it possible to grab any image displayed.

If you are sensible and don't upload at unneccesarily large resolutions (600-800px on the long edge is enough) then the value of a downloaded or grabbed image is minimised.

Thank Alastair, it's not for me, but my client wants to put up my high res files on his Flickr stream, but then is expecting me to make up extra money by selling the images elsewhere. Obviously this won't happen if they can simply download high res versions from flickr!

If you start with nothing can prevent downloads, you will be heading in the right direction.

Hi res files are harder to get hold of, but if someone wants to use it on the web a simple screenshot will do.

You can however prevent the use by putting a large watermark across the whole image. This won't stop them downloading it, but means that they can't use the photos.
