Flickr Help

I've just set up a flickr (I've always used DeviantART, see sig)

Now when you click on one of my photographs, then click actions > View all sizes, the largest size is far too large for my liking. Is there any way to limit that to say... 800 pixels at the longest side?

Set the image size parameters to 800 pixels before uploading to Flickr. That way Flickr will only show 800 on the longest side as the largest resolution.

I've got mine set so only the default Flickr size is visible to all but me.

I've got mine set to only me too, but it still allows people to go click the larger versions.

So far I can see the 800 pixel at the widest size being the only option.

A shame as I wanted to use it as an online archive for my high res images too.

Ah, I hadn't thunk of that. Maybe that's the reason. I don't know, maybe people can see mine. I'm always logged on as myself, so don't really know.

Hi above your image, after actions, next tab Mail, FB, Twitter, the little arrow click that, choose your image size you want to post, copy the code in the box, paste it into your post HTH

Looks like the size limit with that setting is 1024px along the long edge. There isn't really a lot of practical difference between that and 800px so I probably wouldn't worry about it. :shrug:

Forgot to say 1024px along the longest side is the forum limit, you can just put that on and it will automatic reduce the size in your post with a click to embiigan, so alls good just use 1024px along the long edge so just resize to that

I think the OP's original query was that they don't want 1024px to be the largest size when other people are viewing in Flickr.

That is why I suggested that he sizes them to 800px (longside) max before uploading to Flickr.

I have to folders on PC for my Flickr work. One titled Flickr original which has the big sized images whenever needed and the second is titled Flickr uploads where I set image sizes to 800px at the longest side. I only upload few images per month on flickr so that kind of arrangement suits me best
