Flickr Link Back Converter

Hi all,

a while ago I saw a thread on TP that included a link to a small app that a member had made to convert the Flickr image link back links so they could be posted on here.

Now for the life of me I cannot find the thread again, I seem to have tried every variation I can think of in the search box but to no avail.

Can someone please put me out of my misery and point me in the right direction, ta.

I have no idea now but you know when you open one of your images in Flickr they give you 2 different pieces of code to enable you to post the image elsewhere but they state that you have to link back under the community guidelines etc...

Well it's the first piece of coding that you are given which says to paste HTML into your website that needs converting cos in it's standard form it does not work when pasting into this forum to show the image in a post.

Am I making any sense?

Ah, sorry, I see what you were saying now. Yes I have searched TP using the 2 words you supplied and saw a few posts relating to the Flickr linkback on images and they do explain how to manually do it but I am sure I saw on here that someone had made a small app to do it automatically, maybe I just dreamt it.

I don't have FF so can't access GM scripts unfortunately.

I have now found a small app elsewhere that does change the code automatically and it seems to work.

I know I posted a link that does do the same but it is from a site that is very old and not recently updated so I was concerned that the link would soon be dead.

I am currently working on a little windows app that will do the same, I will post if and when I get it sorted.

slightly OT but my favourite Flickr gizmo is a Flickr search by Photo ID Number - just the thing for when people haven't put proper link-back links in their postings... Came in really handy back when the POTY competition was anonymous for a couple of months

Hi all,

well I have made v1 of my Flickr ReLinker to make it easier to recode the Option 1 linkback HTML code of Flickr images to be able to post them on TP.

It does not resize images so it is up to the user to choose the appropriate size image bearing in mind it is 800px on the longest side for standard images and I think 1024px for panos.

Unfortunately there is no option on this forum to attach a file so I have had to upload it here on The Pirate Bay, it is a Torrent file.

Hope you enjoy it.

It is supposed to be cross-platform but I don't have a Mac so could not try it.
