I have had for a while the Lowepro Flipside 300 and it's a great rucksack for my needs. But am about to get more involved in hill walking and hiking to take my pictures. Of course the weather can change. I have bought a Gelert rain cover and fits on the back, but am yet to be out in the rain with it.

Does anyone have this bag and have any leakage issues in heavy rain when using a rain cover? Whilst the bag would protected with a rain cover I do wonder about rain coming down my shoulders and through the back of the back that's facing my back and through the zips.

I have a Lowepro Fastback 250 (same material, etc) I use a cheap EBay rucksack cover on it (NativePlanet) and have been out in some real minging weather in the last couple of years, my camera hasn't got wet yet, (well, not while it was in the rucksack) so don't worry!

Went out in rain yesterday, and whilst the outside of teh bag did get wet it was bone dry inside. Survived an hours worth of heavy rain. I did eventually get teh gelert raincover out for it, but nice to know it can survive a decent downpour for a little bit anyway

i bought the 400 as it comes with a cover the back still gets a bit wet but i figure you cant have everything :)
