Well as the title suggests i am holidaying to the sunshine state on tuesday and was wondering if anybody on here had any good suggestions for good places to go togging in the Orlando area.

Thanks in advance

What do you mean by the Orlando area? As in a local area or as far as the east and west coasts for example? Will you have a car and how far are you prepared to drive?

I'd only suggest the obvious Disney World 'cos I love the place and i'd take any excuse to be a big kid :D.

Disney, universal, Sea world are the obvious ones but if you want a quiet 1/2 day away from the crowds and closer to nature, have a drive up to Blue Springs. It'll cost you a bout $5 to park but that's it (unless you fancy a boat ride up the Johnson river or something) plenty of nature to see, wild Manatees, Gators plenty of large fish in the river easily seen (Garfish, bass etc.) lots of birds, there's an old house that belonged to the family that settled there now kept almost empty but original with plenty of historical info about the place and family. All in all a nice quiet and cheep trip for something different.

Go down to Kissimee for the Oldtown cruise, some great old and new cars to see and the atmosphere is great (another cheep evening out).

Take a look on the DIBB theres loads of Orlando info on there (we're all nuts about the place) DIBB clicky

Hope that helps

Forget Disney - Univeral Studios, Islands of Adventure, Seaworld and Busch Gardens are the way forward!

I'd say, also pack a polariser and if you plan to do any candid street photography, take a wide angle lens (trust me :D)!

Happy hols!

Ahh, I go on Tuesday too, kennedy space centre is ok and celebration is pretty , but all very touristy, there are some great lakes in orlando for wildlife..silversprings is nice..is it wildlife or scenery your after.

In all honesty I took a dslr and lenses first time I went to orlando and found that it was just a drag and just too cumbersome in the heat and condensation with the aircon was a pain too, so I now take my trusty canon g3...the weather forcast for Orlando is crap for the next week :O((
