Wow, that's a great set. The story sets them off a treat...

Way too creepy for me but excellent shots as usual Alby (y)

Oh now I've got to scroll back up and past them again

excellent, Alby you should meet my sister she has a thing for spiders and bugs. Even a pet spider, a chillian rose.

How come Mr fly no bugger off when Mr Spider comes into view?
Did you glue him down?

Great set of shots

Thanks folks and glad you like, Paul the jumping spider is toooooooo quick for the fly. I did try and get it just before the pounce but I had the raynox 202 on and couldn't get the whole incident in one frame, It was all to quick anyway for a slow old fart like me.

Brilliant as ever, but Paul? the jumping spider!!!
No really, no'3 is the spit (sans fly) of a 'photo in an insect encyclopedia I saw when but a young thing, that was in black and white but it brings back the memories!! Thanks!!

Janet and John is an early stage reading book from my young schools days and anyone around 40 to 55 I guess would know them well. Terry Wogan done a cd for children in need in the same style called Janet and John. Thanks for looking Splog ;)

Unbelievable.

They are just too good , what magnification are you getting with your set-up

With the kit I used for these shots I would guess about 6x is about max Here is a shot from the series fully max out I think, the flare from the sun was just too strong and ruined the shot unfortunately.

Great photos :)

These and other posts are making me want to make a big effort to find jumping spiders.

Do you just get them in certain types of environment?
I've never found one even though i quite regularly have bug hunts with my macro lens
