I have a 28-70mm f2.8 nikon lens and on a recent trip to denmark i noticed that it would not focus when zoomed in. I then noticed that i could hear the motor working, but the focus seemed to be stuck.
At first i thought it was just the cold, as it -2 at the time. but now i'm back home it seems to do the same thing. If i manually turn the focus ring a bit it seems to losen up and start working again, although it does seem slower than it used to.
Has anyone had this problem before if so how do i sort it and how much is it likely to cost? Should i continue to use the lens or would be best to avoid using it till i have it sorted?
I should say that the lens was 2nd hand when i got it about a year ago.
