Focus point is wrong

Hello,

I was out photogrpahing the McRae Stages rally yesterday and seemed to come over a problem with my focusing. What seems to be the problem is that the spot where the camera viewfinder is telling me is focused is slightly above where it actually is.

Does anyone know why this may be?

The focus areas are bigger than you might expect so it would depend on the amount of detail at and around the focus 'point'.

Maybe post an example, but I'd have thought you'd have noticed before if it was a fault.

Just to rule out technique beeing at all to blame (moving subjects being hard to focus on after all), try printing a focus test chart and seeing how you fare http://focustestchart.com/chart.html
