Hi just a quick question regarding focus points. I have a Nikon D600 and find the focus point in single point focussing ie: the red square box can be a bit hit or miss. I find the most accurate part of it is the the upper line of the box, this is more noticeable when focussing on something that has another object behind it and if the whole focus point is not on the object I wish to focus on, the upper part of the square will sometimes select the item in the distance. Using Nikon nxview it will show that most missed focus shots are when the upper line of the square is not on the selected focus object. As we all know sometimes the item we want to focus on is not always large enough for the focus square to be completely within the subject. Is this a common problem that can be re-calibrated or do i just have to live with it and learn the best part of the focus point to use?
The problem i have is that I find the whole focussing square is not consistent, not a problem at distance or on larger subjects. Just when I choose a small subject or close up. Just seems the upper part of the focus point is the more active area rather than the whole focus point (the square single focus box ).
