Its just all about time at the shutter. The more you spend the better the results. There may still be a focus problem but as my ex said.

"get rid of the belly, smell, bald head, panting & crying. Then we will see if your good in bed"

I wasnt

This is the exif data of your first Standard Information
Make: Canon
Model: Canon EOS 7D
ImageSize: 1024x683

As the 7D is capable of 5184 x 3456 why would the image size only be 1024x683? (or is your uploaded version just a small version?)

Jamie, what image size have you got the camera set at? Have you got every set at maximum sizes?

Are you shooting RAW or JPG?

I have tried both jpeg

and raw and I use Flickr and don't know how to post bigger photos as just click on large

and when using raw I all ways have it set to 18 not sure about any other setting

So how do you put up bigger photos and do you think I have missed a setting

Thanks

You are limited to the bandwith on web sites and pictures should be no more than 800x 600 in size or TP could be in trouble.

Look up VSO image resizer and get the free download

No camera/lens ever looks really sharp at 100%. It's too easy to do with digital, and will take you on a short road to madness...

Nicely put Richard.

I'm all ready mad so I am well on my way to the loony bin lol

I'll take one more shot get exposed right and every thing covered and then put that up and we can make a final judgement on that.

As I am sure you are all fed up with me lol

But a real big thanks I am appreciative of all the help

Thank you

Chad
If you have a query then this is the place to ask. I find members are so helpful and if only one of the suggestions hits the target at least you have had several options to try out.

AS has been said many times before its practice that makes the difference and deciding which lens for which job is part of the learning curve.:thumbs:

Ok right found the problem!!!!!!!

It’s the tripod and camera shake!!!

Been out today just outside house and used a car number plate to show sharpness!!!

And you could tell when camera was had movement due to the letters showing motion blur!!

These two shots are not brilliant but prove to me that it’s not the camera it’s me!!!

So that’s good news.

Right any suggestions on tripods or shall I get the above mentioned one??? And what head should I get??

Thank you all so much I owe you all a kit Kat so you can all have a well earned break!!!

If any of you in around Leicestershire let us know I’ll buy you a drink!! And I mean that!

There's a direct relationship between camera movement (camera shake, mirror slap, whatever) and focal length. The very rough formula for hand-holding is that your shutter speed should not be longer than the effective focal length, ie actual focal length x crop factor.

Example, lens 200mm, effective focal length 200 x 1.6 = 320, so longest hand-held shutter speed should not be longer than 1/320sec, preferably faster. Likewise, you can see that it's possible to hand-hold a wide-angle lens at much longer speeds than a longer tele-zoom.

Of course, IS changes this a lot, and a decent tripod 'should' eliminate it, but if the tripod is a bit flimsy and especially if you've got the centre-column fully raised, then you can still get trouble there.

First thing to decide with a tripod is your budget... ;)

What I have got to spend more money on this cheap hobby.....

Surly not lol

Well its not as bad as kit cars.... that is expensive ....

Me thinks Chad had better book a pub for an evening and be ready to buy drinks for 35000 members.:lol::lol:

As for tripods go into a shop:thinking: preferably a photographic one, and try out your camera with the tripod fully extended.

I have a Manfrotto 055XPROB which is rock solid and also the centre column can be swing down to ground level. For the head I am using a manfrotto 804RC2 for 3 reasons , first it has a built in bubble level and second it can be turned 360 degrees for those panoramic shots and is marked so you can get the same amount of overlay, also it can be tilted in any direction A heavy bit of kit but should last a lifetime. I have a manfrotto Pistol grip head (322RC2) but it is limited on movement due to design and wouldn't recommend it

Right ill get that sounds right and be a better pick than my last one.

Yea I think some one should organise a tp mass party. Has it been done before

If you try out that tripod when the centre column is extended there is a recessed button underneath it and when pushed it allows the column to swing sideways. with the legs spread out, that sound a bit naughty, the camera will reach ground level. Ask for a demo
