My brother and my dad and I added the finishing touches to his RS500 today before it came home.
I took a few pics along the way, so here they are...

You need to get hold of someone with a "Rig" now
that is one heck of a project as well, although I do prefer the Red 911 you have cropped off!!
Looking forward to seeing some location shots of the car,

Paul

It'd have to be a bolt on rig. Doubt my dad would let me put suckers on the car after all the work to get it flawless.

Here's its first "on location" shot. Its actually on my driveway and I took the shot from my living room window.

Lovely car, i don't think you can run a car like that unless you have your own business or win the lotto, lol. These new breed of cars would certainly see off my old beloved Vectra GSi, I never thought Ford would make a better car than the Escort RS Cosworth, shame they're limited to 155mph today. I bet it would do close to 180 mph !! :p

The RS isn't limited to 155. They stop at about 163 if my memory serves me correctly...

man, thats one nice motor 500hp awsome.
ant the pics show the story.

As much as i'd like it to have 500 ponies it doesn't. They're around 350.

The 500 is referring to the limited run of 500.
There are only 101 coming to Britain.

Really like the one of it on your driveway (y)

I reckon you could go further with the processing of the shot in your 2nd post, maybe even a faux-HDR type effect (TBH I normally hate HDR, but I think there's a time and place and this may be it :D)

This is probably over-cooked now, but it was only a very quick attempt :)

Just say if you want me to take it down :)

It's a stunning looking car IMHO, particularly with that finish

Looks good, guess it is vinyl on the body as the door jamb paintwork looks glossy black?

I had vinyl on my truck, spent £2k on it, lasted less than six months then I tore it off. Started peeling off at the edges, never again. Mine was matte grey as the matte black seemed to mark dead easy, but the black does look better.

Like the drive way shot BTW. (y)

EDIT: oh, tinting the tail lights would make it even more stealthy too!

Looks great to me - far better than the crappy 911 which are ten-a-penny.... (y)

Well, 911's turned heads in the 70's & 80's, but I can't remember the last time I saw anyone give any 911 a second glance.... not saying they're not good cars, just a very dated and unexciting shape now.

If only i had a spare £35,000!!!

Love the car, hows the vinyl wrap holding up?? thats the only thing that would put me off, not knowing how well it would put up with stone chips etc...

We've got it, you've got far too good taste to like something like that. No need to clog the thread with crap though, is there

Hey come on, all tongue in cheek (y) The car looks awesome.....

Superb pics, thanks for sharing :)

It aint just sticker wrapped.....

The new Focus RS500 features a 350PS 2.5L Duratec-RS engine with 460 Nm of torque, which delivers 15 % more power than the standard Focus RS and results in truly exhilarating road and track performance. The Focus RS500 is equipped with a unique matt black foil paint finish and with matching 19-inch alloy wheels to deliver a powerful visual impact, which is unlike any other Ford production. Each of the 500 units of the Focus RS500, which will be sold across 20 European markets, will carry a metal plaque on the center console, hand-engraved with a unique identification number from 001 to 500.

Not all were sold. The one that Ford used for media and PR, which is numbered PR001, has been retained by Ford and is kept in their Heritage Museum in Dagenham.
Great photos and great cars by the way.

As they're all sold your going to be needing more than that. There was one on ebay last week listed at over £40k.
You could try the cheaper option and just buy the "standard" RS and have the MP350 engine package fitted.

Always owndered what the Nove brigade moved up to when they got bored with 2.0 16v cavalier engines..... :p:p:p

Great set great car lovely set and I love the Matt B alck shouts Stealth .... would look great on a decent motor lol ;)

ok ok foci are cool too when they look like this

Focus RS or Porsche RS???? HMMMMM! sorry mate, the Porsche everytime. The RS badge died with the Sierra RS500. I was lucky to own one, and although 350bhp, 163mph out of the focus is good, back in the 80's we were getting that top end out of similarly specced 500's. go further and you almost broke 180 on the standard gearbox

Great shots, by the way, however, you should have done some of the Porsche

The RS badge is alive and kicking long may it continue.:D
Porsche on the other hand, outdated styling that needs to move on. Hell they even try (very badly) to incorporate the same styling into "off roaders" and 4 dr saloons:puke::LOL:.

To be honest, I wasn't that interested in photographing the Porsche.

Just for you though, I'll post some pics of my dads 911. Please note, these pics are not mine. They were taken by Tim Wallace.

You are absolutely right, 'The' RS badge 'is' alive and kicking (fords arse all over the place!) Audi RS marques, and the Porsche GT3 RS at 450 hp (336 kW), the 3.8 litre flat-six engine in the 997 GT3 RS is the most powerful six cylinder naturally aspirated engine in any production car with a 118 hp per liter output with no turbo lag.(y)
Granted, the focus is indeed a nice car, but come on, it is only a family car. Porsche having out dated styling??? as the saying goes, "if it ain't broke..........."

Polished Bliss ?

Gotta love an RS, great photos mate :)

I'll need to keep an eye out for the RS Murray, I'm frequently in Stoney (when not offshore) Should be easy enough to spot it - there won't be any others like it!

Long time RS fan here - although I haven't sampled the recent stuff personally. All mine were from the 70's and 80's. Enjoy yours.

Porsche 997 GT3 Rs 0-62 4.2 secs  mmmm
Audi TT and 5 RS Coupes 0-62 4.6 secs  mmmm
:nono:
Ah!
Ford RS 200 Evolution 0-60 3.275 secs (y)(Fastest Production car 0-60 time set back in 1993)
Can't see it taking another second to get to 62mph, can you?

The problem is (and I have never driven one !) that it is a hopelessly overpowered front wheel drive car. I have owned two Caterhams and a Subaru Impreza. Indeed I bought the Subaru as a "sensible" car for when I needed to travel a long distance on my commute. I then had kids and everything changed :-(

For 35k I would buy a Caterham for £20k and a warm hatchback for £10K. The RS500 (unless you are barmy about the whole RS thing) just seems to be the worst of several worlds and the best of few.
