The bread looks so crusty and delicious. I could just smother it in fresh butter and eat it with a fesh bowl of mushroom soup. The kiwi is excellent. Love the lines and the detail and colour are really good. The orange looks so juicy and the detail and colour are great. Nice set John (y)

Really like those John. My faves are the back lit pepper, very clever, what did you light it with ? and the Kiwi, although I have to say that the patterns on the sides did my eyes in scrolling up and down...

Cheers Maureen and John, glad you like 'em :D

The pepper was lit by a 20 watt halogen desklamp right up against it and shining through it :D.

All shots were taken in my BAZ777 light tent/box :) on a black ASDA tray

The bread shot is just sooooooooo very bready. Really nice.

I like the non backlit pepper lots too, for the mix of rough and smooth textures and nice form. I reckon that kiwi shot would be quite a jaw dropper with the backlighting too. :)

Thanks Darren - I might try that idea with the kiwi :thumb:

And thanks Glo :) much appreciated :)

Excellent images from which I prefer the pepper and it's hard to pick one from a set with such a consistently high standard throughout. Like them all very much.

Thanks Russ and thanks Dave

Not sure what advice I can give Dave :) Its all done in a cardboard box (a la Baz777) lined with black craft paper and with the items sitting on a shiny black tray (a la Duckydoodle)

Lit overhead or from the side with desklamps shining through a 'window' of tracing paper in the roof of the box.

Camera is tripod mounted, manual focus, remote release av setting with an aperture of between f5 and f10, iso 100

The lit pepper had the desk lamp directly behind it - all others were lit as described above (although I think the light might have been directly shining on the orange!)

Based on some of the ideas above I'll try shining light through some slices soon :)

Hope that helps :)

Cheers Ruth :) Looks like I might try this with more food :) Sainsburys here I come :D

Jonnny, John ty both

Christine thank you as well and thats a good idea I'll bear that in mind next time :)

All such brilliant shots that it's hard to pick a favourite. I do particularly like the backlit pepper though.

I was about to go straight to bed but might have to make a detour via the fridge and fruit bowl now!

Glad I've just had my lunch John or I'd have to go and raid the cupboards like Alison:D

I like the bread, the red onion, and the backlit pepper best  You could almost imagine that one as a halloween image (y)

Well that was time well spent I'd say...

That is a excellent set of photo's...bit 1..4..and 6 are superb

I got a macro a few months back but not got a tripod worth playing with...but now you got me thinking

guess this is what this sight is all about, giving each other idea's and having a go, so congratulations you got me dusting off the old tripod this weekend...(y)

Really liking the pepper shot - something different giving a great effect.

I read an illustrated article on food photography and the photos were good, but yours are amazing in comparison- wow, especially the first 5 pictures, #6 doesn't do much for me. The others are fantastic- well done.

David, Marcus and Rob thanks very much indeed, glad you like 'em :)

Great set. #2 & #3 are my favourites.

They are all great but I particularly like 2, 3 and five :).

Thanks Alison :) Don't eat too much :D
Your caution came too late John. A fridge raid and huge impromptu midnight feast ensued. The dog thought he’d died and gone to heaven as he got to share. I took some snaps (of no photographic merit whatsoever thus not worth posting) of him lying on my bed chowing down on the remnants of bizarre food combinations I’m not even prepared to describe :puke:

Glad I've just had my lunch John or I'd have to go and raid the cupboards like Alison:D
I’m going to start hitting the “report” button if he posts any more of this irresistible food porn, Kiasmum. If I get so fat that the doors need widening as a result of his photographs I intend to sue
