Anyone familiar with the formac gallery 2010 white monitor ... i recently loaned this working monitor - DVI based but cant seem to get it working on my PC .. on power up the monitor front light just fades on and off and no display .. i think it could be in sleep mode but do i need drivers to access the sleep mode to switch it on ?

I don't have any experience with the monitor, but many graphics cards with DVI output will not output anything unless

1) they explicitly have been turned on by a driver (i.e. multi-window display)

2) they are the only output device available at boot-time (as the bios will initialise the display interface for interrupt 80)

Before panicing, unplug your old monitor, and only have this device plugged in whilst rebooting the computer.
Also, see if there is an 'input' choice button for the monitor. Sometimes they do not auto-detect which input is available (like the one in front of me), and so has to be set for DVI (rather than VGA on mine)

have you tried the formac website for any drivers etc

The drivers would be for your video card I suspect.

Had a quick look on google. It would appear that the monitor is a digital DVI only, there are many people who seem to be having problems connecting the monitor with an ADC.
Are you using a converter, or is it plugged directly into DVI?
Did rebooting the system with the monitor attached and on help?

tried everything ... the monitors built in DVI cable goes directly into my PCI-e DVI card .. no convertor. the monitor powers up ok .. and the USB is recognised ok .... just no screen. The Formac site says if the monitor light is flashing then its in sleep mode ... but how the hell does one access this to turn it on ...
