Formatting

Just received a new 16GB SDHC card for my D90. Do I need to format the new card? Or will it work straight from box. My camera battery is on charge so can't just put it in and try.

It'll work straight from the box, but there's no harm in formatting it for all the time it'll take....

Format the card as soon as you get into camera, then you know that your images will be written to the card correctly.

It's quite possible the camera will detect the card as unformatted and offer you the option there and then. Either way it's no biggie.
