Has anyone got any info on how well Four Thirds lends work on like a E-M5 with a converter?
Do you still get the same spec etc?
 
If you use an Olympus MMF-3 adapter you get the benefit of the full capability of the lens - autofocus, exposure control, exif data etc.

The Four Thirds sensor and Micro Four Thirds sensor are the same size so focal lengths don't change.

I believe that focus speed may not always be the same when a 4/3 lens is mounted on an M4/3 rather than 4/3 camera.
 
Depending on the lens you'll get much slower focus (than a native micro-4/3rds lens) or MUCH MUCH SLOWER focus,
but the optics and everything else will be the same high standard.

Which lenses do you have?
 
I don't yet but going to buy a E-M5 and was looking at the 12-60 2.8 and 14-54 2.8?
 
FYI, Olympus have been on record as stating they're actively working on a solution to improve 4/3 lens performance on m4/3 cameras, and although no one is sure quite what solution they'll come up with, it's likely that there will be phase-detect AF on sensor, allowing them to use this instead of the sloooow contrast AF that they currently use.

Also, there's strong rumours for a september announcement of a new camera, but there's been very little details so it's hard to say if it will include the new 4/3 lens solution (I guess there's a reasonable chance).
 
Steve can I suggest when you've got your e-M5 seek out someone local and try to try (?) one of those with the adapter.
My 14-54Mk1 is irritatingly slow on m4/3rds bodies and I hear the most respected 12-60 is even worse.
The m4/3rds Panasonic 12-35F2.8 is expensive but that's yer choice for a good aperture standard zoom ...

Thanks I'm in the middle of hunting down a E-M5 and it seems most people use prime lens on them which I like but it's some times nice to have a fast standard zoom.
