Four thirds with OM lens

I have a question about 4/3 system.

I have ordered a OM to 4/3 adaptor, what would it change my 50mm and 28mm OM lens focal lens to? Would it double to focal lengh?

No. The focal length of the lens remains the same.

But - on a 4/3 camera, the 50mm lens will have the same field of view of a 100mm lens on your OM. This is because the sensor on your 4/3 camera is smaller than a 35mm frame an so only detects the middle section of the image being produced by the lens.

If you're still confused, get a cup of tea, sit down and think about it...

Double the focal length you would need for the same angle of view, yes.

Just the same as your other lenses.

I'll post some pics with the OM lenses when i get the adaptor, i think the OM primes i have will give some good results. they may be old but still very good lenses!

one more thing, how will it affect the F stops/apature?

Aperture and shutter speed are not affected, there is no charger for this useless piece of info.

Im sure I read somewhere that f-stops and the like are a bit limited, something like f8 or lower only. I'd have to look it up.

I use a 300mm f4.5 on my 410 with no problems. I have used manual focus for 30 plus years and find no difficulty going back to that method - might be different if you were brought up on auto focus.
