Has anyone seen the Francesca Woodman exhibition currently at Tate Liverpool? Would be interested in any reactions. Apart from the subject matter/content for which she is well known, I was most struck by some of the unusual but very strong compositions. Any thoughts?

Yes! I saw it in Helsinki last year.

I loved it, even got a book. Something from seeing them in person really sparked something in me, and I found it really interesting. I highly recommend, just expect to want to buy a TLR at the end of it if you haven’t already got one :p

She led an interesting and sad life. No spoilers!

It was so much better then seeing a few of her images - the variety of subject (albeit with a strong single theme) and composition was impressive, and some of the tonalities excellent. Many of the images were printed very small, and needed a close look. They were hung with paintings and drawings by Egon Schiele, and came out of the inevitable comparison very well. Thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone near Liverpool.
