Can anyone point me in the direction of some free (safe) actions, I'm looking for vignette, vintage and blur.

Action central is pretty good, never had any problems with stuff from there, and to be fair I've never had any issues with actions from deviantart either. (but probably slightly more risky)
By the way the ones you mention are easy enough to make yourself.

I'll google how to make the actions myself. I've been out of 'action' myself for most of this year due to an injury and now I'm recovering from the op. So I'm even rusty on the old CS4 front too.
