Whilst on holiday in France we popped in to see the mother and father in law at their static caravan, so there is me sitting out on their deck taking some lovey pics of the birds on the feeder when one of the neighbours pops in for a glass of wine, we get chatting about cameras etc and asks what lens I have on, well as the birds where close enough to touch nealry it was my 70-200mk2 so he disappears for 10 mins and comes back and says here try this.
I open the case and inside is a Sigma 170-500mm, so i stick it on the camera and away i go taking pics of the birds half a mile away (joke) he says what do you think, I say its not bad and then at that point he says its yours, i have not used it in 4 years so keep it.
Done a bit of research and had to buy him some lovely wine and pouches of Baccy, I was not going to just take it for nothing, some people are just so kind.
Ok the lens is no 70-200 mk2 or 100-400 that I have both of but its a great lens for a sunny day with a tripod.
Just had to share.
