We popped down to Christchurch today to see our old friends Iain and Sarah, and their 2 gorgeous kids, Amelia (2) and Harry (4 months). After some late Xmas present exchanges (the January snow storms had put paid to previous planned visits) we wandered down the coast and MY LORD IT WAS COLD - the first shot (of Amelia) shows you how fierce the wind was with eyes streaming. Iain and I sensibly elected to leave our scarves in the car. We're very clever men. Amelia and Jess had a play in the park and then we all decamped to a restaurant to warm our bodies and fill our tummies.

Jess, I know I'm biased because I'm your dad but when I look at you I think my heart might burst...you take my breath away.

Guy, I always look forward to your posts (you should more often!) because your portraits are always beautiful These are gorgeous, numbers 2, 3 and 6 are just sublime. can I ask you which lens you used?

Saw these on your Blog earlier and thought what a nice relaxed get together with a pair of winos looking after their kids

Brilliant portrayal of relaxed family life. (y)

Some lovely captures. Shame Amelia (great name ;)) is OoF in #5 but great expressions in all. As Jen says #6 is beautiful, a proud dad you should be for sure

2nd and last classically good. Excellent. The rest are not to be sneezed at either

These are superb. (y)

It seems I need to upgrade my 50 1.8 in the hope of achieving some shots like this!

The young girl in 6 is very pretty and the focus is spot on, but could you please crop out the big white square thingy, it's really distracting. :) Ta

lovely kids, nice shot. by the way, how did you change them to the Black White ones, I means the effect is really great!!

Nope - it's a chair and it adds context. Plus the crop makes the shot.....

Thanks though. :)

I use a preset I've created in Lightroom.

Sorry about the illegal sizes - they're on my blog as well as Flickr.
