Is it possible to develop this fault? I have had my fifty for about a year and didn't use it that often on my old D40 body. I've been using it a great deal more since i got my d300 but find I'm having front focus issues. Where I focus on someones eye and it is out of focus but say the wall they're leaning against seems in focus (focus point confirmed as the persons eye). Does it need to go back or can I make any adjustements in camera for example? have checked with other lenses and am getting everything sharp and in-focus so have pinned it down to that lens.

It was bought at Jessops but I don't think I have the reciept any longer - do you reckon they'd fix it? First bit of kit I've ever had go wrong so not sure what the form is.

If your Nikon has MA (micro adjustment) then yes it can be adjusted to bring it into line, if not you can send your camera and lens to Nikon and let them do it, or have a word with Jessop's about it..:)

You can use the D300 micro focus adjustment. I would suggest that rather than having the lens looked at you get the D300 checked out.

thanks
I had looked for focus adjustment in the user manual but couldn't find mention of it. bit of playing with a test card and the micro adjust and i'm sorted. many thanks
