Hi,

I'm keen on trying some macro work, and happily Santa brought me an EF12 extension tube yesterday. :D

This is the best I got from photographing random things with it today. It's using the 17-85 EF-S lens with natural light.

Could have done with a tad more DOF perhaps?

 
Maybe a fraction but I think the DOF you have there draws the attention to the most interesting part of the image.

I'm playing a little with macro myself albeit with a 24-85 macro zoom. I fancy a set of macro bellows too - wonder how it'd work with the 300m prime!
