Fuel is someone extracting the urine

Hi Graham, yes it’s accurate.

I've seen that one earlier this week and it was way off, although I only looked at the summary - which is wrong for the Esso station I was checking, but when you click into it the price looks accurate. The others look ok though. I suppose the best thing is to always click into them. Cheers for the link, that's useful.

What app or site is that and do you find it accurate? I've checked a few out recently and find them out of date, so looking for a decent one.

I use this one, it would seem that the supermarket prices are currently the highest, which is quite unusual in these crisis.

£1.92 ltr up in my area , Half a tank £62 so a full tank £124.00  :$ :$

Diesel £1.94 today from the local "cheaper" station. £1.97 up the road.

In this part of Surrey near Guildford

Lowest diesel is Esso @ 178.9 and the most costly is Jet@ 193.9

PS I have petrol car and that is around 157.9

Since my good lady came out of hospital we have stayed home. Groceries delivered by Tesco. Over £50 worth and you just pay a small fee ( £5.00). Never shopped online before and I quite like it. You even get reminded of best offers etc! My car is full of diesel (don't tell anyone!).

A chap I know works in the local supermarket fuel station. He says that people are queuing up for 30, 40minutes and putting £10.00 worth of fuel in!

Probably with their engines running!

we do quite a bit of online nowadays as well, as long as you shop smart its a great deal, also we have a Lidl and an Aldi with walking distance so its a no brainer. Can't remember the last time we took the car out for food shopping, its been years.

Filled my tank up today as we're heading off to Manchester Airport on Saturday morning..... After the round trip to the airport I probably won't need to put petrol in again for another 4 or 5 months due to how little I use my car..... it only did 854 miles between last years and this years MOT.... :D

On our drive down to the coast yesterday, we saw several stations where diesel was £1.979 to £1.999, so, right on the cusp of the £2 a litre.

This should be interesting this week considering what has happened in the republic of ireland.

Not sure if it will achieve anything or not but there is a lot of very angry people. Our government here can't even do anything about it. If they do what they did in the republic bringing in the army etc. they just won't accept that here and it will likely lead to a few weeks of rioting.

The Gov cannot win here, lower fuel prices which will drastically reduce taxes and impact services like NHS?

The Government are also profiteering from this through increased VAT receipts. They could reduce the rate and still bring in similar pre-conflict VAT revenue from fuel. It would also help mitigate inflation.

Richmond: 153.9 for UL, 165.9 for SUL and 186.9 for diesel. Sainsbury's. Prices fairly consistent across the borough.

The way the government tax fuel is a disgrace when you compare it to some other countries.

60% tax and then V.A.T on top is disgusting.

The U.K government has put themselves between a rock and a hard place though with all of the completely mental spending they have done on Ukraine, Benefits, and net zero policies and wastage. They probably can not afford to lower tax on fuel which other countries are doing. Australia for example has removed fuel excise for the next 3 months. In the U.S.A tax on fuel is 9% :D

Sad state of affairs really, thanks Kier.

Inflation, the conflict in Iran and energy costs are are cited as reasons. Starmer could do things to mitigate the rising costs.

The road blocks have started here for the fuel protests. Will be interesting to see how it goes. Belfast City Airport blocked off at the moment some of the main roads around the country being blocked from 2p.m onwards.

These guys are chancing their luck. I know a few farmers who have taken their tractors to protests, and also to charity tractor runs. VOSA are now carrying out spot checks to make sure that they're not using red diesel for non-agricultural purposes, which of course they are.

Having said that, the cost of red is now so high, and it's now so difficult to get bulk deliveries, that there isn't much point in getting it. We had to put white into our forklift the other day.

Some of these types are supposed to be blocking all sorts of A roads in England this week. The infuriating part is that it's going to cause more people to burn more fuel because they are stuck in the congestion caused by them in the first place.

It's fine to protest but it's pointless them blockading UK roads when the cause of the issue isn't actually in the UK. It's sat in America dribbling like a demented fool.

It's a real shame that too many people feel unable to address these issues through the democratic process.

It's rather stupid of them to feel they have a right to resort to bullying others, who have no more ability to change things than themselves. :(

Seems to be going well.

Pity the mainland U.K don’t have the balls to follow suit.

The one in the republic has meant the government has fallen, that is the power ordinary people have if they are willing to stand up to them.

We don’t react well to threats here. The government here has already tried that saying things like funding will be pulled etc.

Prices up and down like a bride's nightie! Oil is free in the ground! Lots of cars and vans smelling like chip shops round here!
