Nice and tight on my (second-hand) example.

How odd...I tried putting a thin elastic band around the rim of the lens to take up the slack, it was then too tight (Having applied a bit of "pressure".)
Took the elastic band off and it now fits securely!

You would think with the price of these lenses they would design stronger, maybe alloy, hoods. Or better yet, sliding ones like the olden days.

Any review of a Fuji lens is likely to include a criticism of the hood. (Yes. For the price you'd think they'd come up with something better.)
Other than that I love the lens...apart from the fact that it extends when zooming...and the hood!
