Fuji F550-Exr vs Lumix DMC-TZ20? Help pleas

After hours of searching I have managed to narrow it down to 2 cameras...

I will be using the camera at festivals, nightclubs, scenic shots, animals in motion, so generally everything!

The f550 can be bought for around £120 the lumix £170

The site rates the lumix slighty higher but I dont care about the gps or touch screen so is it worth spending the extra £40-50 on the lumix?

I was choosing between the Fuji F500 and the Canon S95 last year, the F500 for zoom, and the S95 for RAW capture. The S95 won out for me, but mainly because of one irritating feature on the Fuji, and that was that the flash pops up every time you turn the camera on. :bonk: Even if you turn the flash off, the flash pops up. :bang: With the Canon, the flash pops up only when it's turned on.

I know someone who got a F500 for £100 in Jessops (Liverpool) last week. It's a steal at that price. I doubt they'll be too many around for long as it's already been replaced. The F500 is the same as the F550 minus the GPS, but you can always turn the GPS on and off.

I also know two people who have the FZ20, and they are very happy with it.


My advice would be go and try them out if possible, if you haven't already. If I'd have bought from the internet sight unseen, I would have probably got the Fuji as it was much cheaper. And I know I wouldn't have been able live with the flash popping up all the time. It's little things like that that you only find out from playing about with them.
