just ran a test roll through my ”new” gw690

Think when I loaded it did not grab the film properly.ive had similar issues with my pentax 67 not
grabbing and I open the camera and do it again making sure it pulls the film. I have a whole frame space at the beginning and no space at the end. No overlap which is good

Anyone else had similar? Also popped my range finder cherry and shot a frame with the lens cap on

I have the same camera and regularly experience this. Was there something specific that you did with loading in order to ensure spacing is okay?

When loading the film, I've found that making sure there is plenty of tension on the film when winding it on before closing the back is useful (I just keep a finger lightly on the roll when winding). I've not had frame spacing issues, but I have had rolls where the film wasn't tightly wound on the take-up spool resulting in light leaks when I've removed the film.

Oh wow seems like an age ago! I sold it a while back, if I remember correctly i endured lined with the dots and as fishyfish said try to keep the film tight, id also look on eBay japan for any busted ones you can buy for parts, I rang up the guys above and they cant get parts for them anymore
