Fuji X10 sub £250

Hi I work for Tesco Bank and at the weekend staff are getting 20% off everything Tesco sell, which means I could get a Fuji X10 for £246, am I silly to pass this up at this price for a brand new camera? I have been looking at them for a few weeks (was thinking of a X100 but would like to see if I'd actually get use out of something which isn't my D300). So do I bite the bullet at this price?

I'd take it! Looking at possibly getting one myself, cant stretch to the x100 just now though.
They look like a very good little solution.
Got the d90 so dont want another multiple lens job
 
I've actually got a £10 off code to use at Tesco Direct too solid get it for £236! Think I'm deffo going to get it, hopefully I'll enjoy it and then move onto the X100 in the new year.
 
Yeah that won't be an issues, got plenty of SD cards already and I'm sure I've read you can get some decent 3rd party batteries etc.

Why the need for a filter and lens hood?
I used mine for 2 months without needing a hood, filter or extra battery but I agree you will definitely need an SD card.

And at £246 you can't go wrong. I sold my used one for £300 not that long ago...

I'd probably get a hood at some point, but that would be it actually looks quite good. I'm not a fan of filters, I don"t use them on my D300 lenses.

I use a filter simply to protect the lens and the lens hood is required in the case of the X10 because the filter attaches to it. A lens good also shields the lens from extraneous light and offers some protection to the lens/filter set up. If I am going to have a knock then I would rather the lens hood take it then the lens itself. However each to his or her own.
 
I think it will push my D80 out of the door to be fair, it's only been used about twice since I got my D300, it's "small" in terms of DSLR's but just not handy for putting in my work bag or jacket pocket. I do love a bit of street photography and am finding my phone isn't cutting it and i'm just not comfortable taking photo's of people with the D300 in certain areas of Glasgow!

Fair enough and yes each to his own which is why to me they are not necessary and not something that needs to be budgeted for:)

I never got flare from my X10, something I can't say for my X100 which attracts more flare that any other lens I have used and is the first time I have ever needed to buy a hood.

Anyway, swordjo - have you bought it yet, if not what are you waiting for.
