I see your problem, Al. As Terry has said, after a couple of yards, parallax isn't much of a problem (and there are enough pixels [of high enough quality] to allow some cropping if you shoot loose).
TBH, I would be looking at the X-Pro1 rather than the X-100(s). True OVF if you want it, easily switched to EVF if you need to and interchangeable lenses (which are fabulous!) The X-100 can have supplementary lenses screwed onto the front but they could be a lot more fiddly than swapping the whole lens if you're a little shaky. Then again, I think one of the other X series RF style has a tiltable screen, as does the X-T1 but that's probably over budget (but is generally what I grab if I take a proper camera rather than a compact.)
