I have had quite a sabbatical from landscape photography and I'm now slowing getting the urge to get back into it.
I currently have a Fuji XM-1 with 16-50 lens. The lens is good but I used to love doing ultra wide angle long exposures.

So please help to either fully talk me into/out of purchasing the Samyang 12mm lens as a cheap way back into what I love doing as at the moment I am undecided.

Does anyone use this combo already? I know the XM-1 is the baby Fuji but it certainly isn't no slouch though.

Also, do you think the XM-1 would look out of place on top of a tripod with a Lee filter system attached?

I don't have the Fuji but I've just bought the Samyang for my A6000 and it's awesome. Focusses down to around 15cm and is pin sharp across the image. I've had it just over a week now and so far haven't found anything negative to say.

Nothing bad to say about the Samyang. I use it regularly on Fuji bodies (I don't have an XM-1 though, I'm afraid). If pushed to sell one or the other I am not sure which would go first, the Samyang or the also truly excellent Fuji 14mm. Get one second hand for £180 and you will sell it for thereabouts so get to try it for free - or just keep it.

Thanks for your valued input Ian.
It will be a Christmas present from the wife so have to wait until December before I get it.
Thank you for your I'll worded offer ;) lol sadly I am in Edinburgh so just a tad to far.
I can see myself ending up with one though.

I use one on an XT1 and an XE1 and love the little lens!

There's a few shots on my Flickr using it especially for 10 stop.

I swapped my 12mm for the Fuji 14mm which was nicer, but there's nothing wrong at all with the Samyang.

Do you have a link to your flickr page? I can't see one as I'm on the app.

I'm sure if the wife could afford the Fuji 14mm she would buy it but alas she can't so the Samyang it will be.

I'm interested in this lens so thanks for this thread !

Can't decide between it and the Fuji 14mm which I've owned before and know is excellent !

Where's the best place to buy the lens btw ?

Panamoz don't sell Samyang lens :(

Egloblacentral have it for £199.99 and a discount code brings it down to £194 but not sure how reliable they are !
