Superb new digital camera from Fuji sensitive to both visible and infrared light.

• 12.3MP (S - 6.17MP, R - 6.17MP)
• Five film simulation modes for daylight photography
• Facial detection technology
• Commercial grade durable metal alloy frame with password protected feature lockouts. Extra rubber body armour available in some kit options.
• Nikon F-mount compatibility for full functionality with all Nikkor AF-D/G and the AF-S optics.
• Dual cycle noise reduction algorithms for pristine pictures at 3200 ISO.
• More dynamic range (DR) settings from 100% to 400%.
• RAW + JPEG simultaneous shooting option.
• Nikon based high precision i-TTL flash control.
• Exclusive Li-ion rechargeable battery
• CF card and Microdrive compatible

Im guessing it based on the Nikon D300 with Fuji own sensor.

It's just an S5 Pro with the AA filter removed - for £1200 :cuckoo:

You also need written permission from Fuji before a dealer can sell you one....

It's over £1300 at Park Camera's so basically a £499 S5pro, they take away the AA filter and a few new little features and charge over £700 more for it lol.

Who Fuji kidding here.

They add in forensically secure workflow features, so that in court, it can hold up that the pictures displayed were taken at that particular time and date, and have not been modified since. When nikon did something similar for the D2x, if memory serves right, they charged ££££ for the software .

It's got a pretty niche market, plus if there's no competitors, hey, they price IS going to be high...

the forcing you to be police, mil or intelligence services seems a tad overkill though...it's not as if it's a secret weapon or surveillance device or something... at least the one I played with at focus wasn't :P

I might still get an S5 converted to IR, if one turns up at the right price.

what with the lack of shipments from japan, and a persistent demand for them, it doesn't look likely :(

keep your fingers crossed (very very tight!) for an S6, and rip the filter out your old one ;)
