Returned the X-S1 to Fujifilm for the sensor (and lens?) to be replaced due to having some blooming resultant images.
Sent off yesterday late afternoon via the prepaid Royal Mail Special Delivery bag and protective box they sent out.
Received an email this morning to say they'd received the camera - well done Royal Mail.
Just received a subsequent email, thinking it must be a duplicate from earlier.
Alas it wasn't, but instead one to say the camera is now on it's way back to me!

That's a turnaround (at this time of year) of less than 4 hours.

So, on the presumption it's all tickety boo, 3 cheers for Fujifilm Service Dept.

Hip hip.....

I had sticky aperture blades on my x100, from first phone call to me having my repaired camera back was 5 days. Very good service.

No, swapped out sensor and lens, which as it was described to me previously, is a complete unit, although they can break them down into their separate components and replace just the one, if that's all it needs.

But even so, I didn't expect to hear anything until Monday/Tuesday, and maybe even me having to chase up the status.

It's certainly encouraging to see a receipt of the item confirmation message, rather than leaving it to the owner to check the RM tracking number for delivery status.
It's all the more encouraging to receive a second one so soon after to say it's been done, tested, packaged, and on it's way back.

As a result, I'm seriously considering hanging on to the X-S1, even though I'm on the lookout for a Pentax K-5.
Very impressed with how this has been dealt with.
