If I was mainly shooting landscapes, I'd probably opt for the mkII version as the new AF, higher FPS etc aren't really of benefit...And it's significantly cheaper
Are you keeping or selling your 50D as this does give you the higher fps (over the mkII)
I've fancied going full frame for a while, but the AF and FPS has always stopped me getting a mkII - now the mkIII is out, it's the money thats stopping me

Without doubt, for mostly landscapes the MkII ticks all the necessary boxes. Save the extra you would have spent on a MkIII for extra glass.

I agree with the above, there probably isn't a good reason to go with the MK3 over the Mk2, that said I have the Mk3 and love it and mostly shoot landscapes.

I would have thought for most users the mk2 is still a fantastic all rounder, I'm not convinced canon made enough changes over the mk2 to warrant most users upgrading, which is a credit to the mk2 design really.

Planning to keep the 50d, but will probally sell some lenses. Certainly my 10-22 which I will be sorry to part with.
You have all confirmed what I was already thinking and will now go for the
mk11.

If you don't need high ISO and live view don't rule out the Canon 1DS mk2 - it does a lot with it's 16.7 MP, has excellent (and simple to use) AF and is built like a tank.
However, if you are like me, I love live view and manual focus so I am looking for a 5D2 as I can see little advantage in the Mk3 for landscape work.

Agreed here, I did have a 5d mkii and went to a 5d mkiii, if you are just a landscaper, I don't really see the additional benefits of the 5d mkiii being worth the extra cost over the 5d mkii.
