Full frame Sensor cleaning

Hi all, need some advice please.

My new to me Nikon D3s needs a sensor clean (actually it's pretty bad really). I've never done a wet clean myself on my DSLR's having just used a rocket blower or getting it done professionally before.

I've decided to bite the bullet and purchase a sensor cleaning kit for the D3S and my D800 and start doing it myself (gulp).

I've been onto WEX''s website and seen the "Visible Dust" cleaning kits (who I've heard of), but am confused over the difference between the Green swabs and the Orange ones ? Does anyone have any insight or can they recommend a complete sensor cleaning kit that works with Nikon's full frame sensors please ?

I've used the VisibleDust kits on a D600 (more often than I wanted to ). They worked well for me.

You have to make sure you buy the 1.0 size swabs for FF sensors. The green liquid is for cleaning dust and water spots, the red liquid is for cleaning oil spots.

If you use the red liquid, you have to use the green liquid afterwards to clean streaks the red liquid may have left.

For me, indeed the red liquid cleaned spots the green liquid or the Eclipse liquid could not clean. So for me it worked as advertised.

I know they have orange swabs, and green swabs, and also blue liquid. I think the orange swabs have even softer fabric, but I'm not sure of the implications (i.e. are they then more difficult to use etc.).

I've only used the green swabs and the red and green liquids, and they worked well for me.

Before you use a swab, be sure to use a rocket blower or vacuum cleaner (not the household type, but one suitable for sensor cleaning) to get any potentially hard matter off the sensor.

I have used visible dust for the past 3 years with no problems!

I use their arctic butterfly for the pre clean as advised by them!

The arctic butterfly is all you need sometimes!

I didn't get on with the orange swabs so used the green swabs and vdust formula. Make sure you get the LED loupe, it makes the job far easier and quicker.

I used a pack from JUST based in Swindow which I bought in Focus.

I used the orange swabs and VDust Plus fluid (blue top). Took three cleans (new swab each time) to clear the oil marks but other than that no prob.

I've not used these, but have used a Lenspen SensorKlear and have been very happy with it - wasn't keen / confident about using a "wet clean" as I'd never done it previously.
