Hi,

Has anybody got any recommendations or information on scripts/software for selling prints through there own website for events and such?

I would use the photobox pro gallery as I will be ordering the prints from themselves anyway but the photobox pro gallery lacks integration and customization, I want the gallery to Tye in with the rest of my website both looks wise and url wise so they are still on my website and not a third parties.

Looking forward to what you have to say.

Jamie

whats your budget? there are a range of options ranging from free to 1000's

I don't want to have a huge outlay so I wouldn't mind a commission based system, or anything upto a few hundred. If there are decent free ones of then I will certainly consider them.

It does not have to be complex just a nice simple system.

Cheers

look at gallery2 - and look at gallery remote to go with it
Or look at Wordpress+nextgen gallery

either way - you will need to invest time/money in sorting a template

wordpress & nextgen isn't a great sales solution, but as Richard says have a look at gallery2 with the shopping cart plugins or splash out for photocart

depends on the volume of images you need to upload

loads = gallery
few = nextgen

I will set a side a day to get the template just right, whats a day when it will hopefully last me many years :)

It says "Gallery supports several photo-printing services which allow visitors to order prints of pictures in your gallery".

Do you know which it supports? I don't think photobox has an API so I am thinking not them.

tip

from memory there are "local folders"
and
there is a template cache

In other words - make any changes you want in the local folder and clear the cache to see the changes. CSS changes are realtime

I use gallery2 for my client galleries. Simple integration with paypal or google checkout and customers can purchase items. Then you can source your printing and ship directly to customer.

Here's my client gallery:

I think it depends more on useage.
Displaying a portfolio for your potential clients = nextgen,
selling after the event=gallery2.

Having said that I agree with Nick T that, although not cheap photocart is ideal

Only scan read the thread, so hope I am on the right lines, but check out fotomoto - http://www.fotomoto.com/ very simple to setup (I am told) and integrates into your site as it opens its own, I think Java, window to do the ordering etc. Use to be all printed in USA so had large shipping costs, but seems they have sorted it now.

I use Serif WebPlus X4
I build my website in that and it includes e-commerce options.

Cost me £40.00 to buy
