Id be lying if I said I was happy with my photos from the rally, had very little motivation due to the weather and the fact that halfway into the first day dispite being up from the early hours of the morning I had seen a grand total of about 5 cars.

tasty as ever mate , loving number two alot . As ive said to you they seem to show the "outside the box" kind of photograpghy you dont normally see from rally pics.

Couldn't agree more, its why i love his rally stuff :) Excellent stuff as usual moley.

These are all very good... Im interested to know the focal length used in the last 2... im hoping 300mm+ even then it looks a scarey place to stand.

Despite you voicing that you had a lack of motivation, you've done absolutely grand. Number 2 is a fave for me. Superb angle, different perspective. I'm off to take some rally pics next w/e. Well done. (y)

escort shot is great I think you did well the evo jump shot is also nice

Thanks for the comments everybody :)

I think u did well showing us 6 different cars whe you only saw 5?:thinking::wacky::woot:

Absolutely fantastic images. Awesome low angle..
Great shooting!
I had only saw about 5 cars by the first few hours of the rallys, I saw more stages later.

i like them.. they look different to the normal shots.

can you give us some details on the post processing you used?

The top two actually have a mild bit of HDR applied to them, 3 tiffs from the raw tonedmapped in photomatix then back into photoshop an original overlaid in colour mode another original in overlay at about 33% opacity gradually fading to completely clear. Then finally just a bit of work on the saturation.

The rest are just more or less straight raw converts.

The last two where shot at 300mm on a 1.6 crop body, the road crested slightly and I was actually ontop of a 6ft bank and the 300mm worked quite well getting them filling the frame just as they reached the top of the crest so you really get that about to be run over look. I dont stand in silly places, i've seen enough crashes before! (actually had a car crash at this even last year into a place I had been standing close to a few min before. It was a really odd place for somebody to go off but they had lost control way before the corner so didnt just run wide like a normal crash would but went off on the outside of the corner entry)

All superb but #2 & #5 stand out for me. I know you say that you were not happy with these and didn't have much motivation but they motivate me to just go out with me camera :)

Nice shots again Mole2K.

Really like #4 of McNulty, just a shame the rear wheel looks a bit funky.

Also that slight HDR you use gives the images something a little different to what is normally seen...must give it a try sometime!

I hadnt noticed that funky rear wheel, I might selectively blur it out as it is quite distracting.

Another vote here for no4, cracking shot, very dynamic !, and I kinda like the funky wheel
