GCSE Photography - anyone else studying at present?

Hi,

I haven't been on here for ages so there may already be a thread for GCSE on here. Just wondering if anyone else is studying GCSE Photography at present?

I'm not, but I'm curious as to what is covered in this. Do you still spend time in a darkroom? Do you learn Photoshop as part of the curriculum?
 
My son is - and there is some time spent in the darkroom, a term spent on film work.

He's the only kid on the course with a D200 :D
 
Did a short course in it last year. The whole thing was about developing ideas, so starting with a brief and taking initial test shots, then doing a final shoot and selecting the best ones for a final set. Lots of pointless writing to be honest, but I did most of it in the lessons and found it pretty easy. Good thing to put on a CV or uni form!
 
I did it and is was a load of rubbish.

No time in darkroom, didn't even look at film, no developing ideas, just.....set your camera to f4 and shoot this..

Pants! Lol


Lots of writing though, about nothing....

Sorry, sore point :) lol....
