Own up, who else suffers from this wallet draining affliction?

Seems like I cant go more than a few days without sliding on to ebay in my lunch hour and hunting out something "i must have".

Doesnt matter the price, could be a lens or even gadgets and trinkets.

Is it just me??? :D

Nope, its not!

My name is Rob and I am a gear addict!

Currently its all about finding the kit to build me a strobist lighting setup.

Crikey, I won't be spening that much. I am doing it strobist starving student style!

I am also modding my PA kit speaker stands to turn them into a backdrop mount!

Well...

This week Ive bought a stofen ombi bounce for my Sunpak 383 (part of my mobile Strobist kit) and 2 cheap cheap light stands (again for el Strobist kit).

Over the past few weeks I also got a new Manfrotto 222RC joystick head, 3 povery wizard spec radio triggers and some other junk. I dare not look at my ebay history :S

I was also an adict. I tried buy old manual lenses off ebay but it didn't help and they are pretty pants compared to new lenses. Now I make wish lists including prices and leave them lying around for my wife to find. The look on her face is ALMOST as rewarding as actually buying things so that's my therapy for now :-)

Gear addiction?....I've far too much self restraint for that....most of the time at least....:help:

Bob

Injected again.

POAH just informed me MyMemory are doing 16gb CF's for £21 delivered. After using 28gb at a recent nightclub event the more the merrier.

I am in the hole about $1300 in one week. I am trying to figure out where I got the money from.

Yeah, although I never have the funds :(

Plus one on that. I've just bought a nifty fifty, and should have a Sigma 120-400mm DG OS HSM lens in a few weeks, but I can only afford that as I'm getting half its value as a Christmas present. Currently dreaming of a 70-200 f2.8 L IS, a fisheye lens, and some sub 20mm Canon L series lovliness. And a bag to put it all in. And a tripod. And a flash gun. And an EOS 5D to use it all with.

My name is Richard, and I have a problem...

yeah i joined that club to

only last week bought a 17-55 and am now looking at a D300....

that has to wait though lol, need a new laptop to as i havent replaced my broken one yet either

Hi, my name is George and I am a recovering gear addict. I am glad to say that it's been 6 months since my last purchase.
The reason.
I am trying to find the money for the Canon 600mm f/4 L :bang::help:

I now have four bloody tripods.Does that answer your question?..........

I hve commited to 2 bigish purchases over the last month
a 50D which i will have at the end of the month when i get paid
and also a 120-300 f/2.8 which i will have hopefully just after christmas.

now i would say i am an addicted but it is being funded purely by overtime, i feel like i live awork at the moment and the house is some strange place. The wife is not impressed but at least i havent blown £2k+ from our wages! I think i would see the divorce letters:rules::help:

I love her dearly for letting me be so selfish - imagine how many shoes she could of had with £2k

190xproB could be yours............

Yep, I'm a gear addict.

I just bought my dream camera and I don't care if I never take a good shot with it.................yes I just bought a blooming Hasselblad!

It was delivered today but thanks to me tearing around like a loony at work it is currently residing at my local post office depot. I'll be the small blonde camped on their doorstep in the morning :) Early!

Being a relatively new addict I am still feeling my way around the seedy world that is photography related purchasing.
It happened oh so quickly.
The man in the shop said that my first few go's would be for free and he would throw in a few freebies when I made my first big buy.
Now I can't seem to stay away from him. But his prices keep going up and all the new gear is shinier and gives me more of a buzz than before.
But I could stop if I really wanted to.
(Buy now pay later at Warehouse Express took a beating the other day):bonk:

I don't consider myself an addict - after all I'm "only watching" about 61 items on e-bay at the moment, "just in case" something comes up I can afford.

I don't have to buy anything if I don't want to...............

(Mind you, it is payday on Friday)!!!!

:naughty:

Yup, 100% gear addict and proud. Canon G9, Nikon D200, Fuji S5 Pro, Nikon D3, two tripods, two flashes, about 10 lenses, and I am counting the days until I can afford a Digital Medium Format.

It's a completely seperate side to the hobby. On one hand I love to try and learn to take great pics, and on the other, I just love the gear. I can quite easily let the two aspects live side by side :D

I can understand that.

If I have bought a photography magazine to read at work because it is a slow day and I'm bored, I probably spend more time reading the ads than the articles.

When I first joined here, I spent more time looking in the equipment section, now it is this one.

I'm not an addict at all, I have just upgraded so I have less lenses but better quality so for now my urges are appeased - but when I manage save a bit of money I think know what I want next, I like to think of that as planning not addiction especially as I very prudently buy secondhand
