Any one with advice on how to properly store lenses when not in use to keep them mint ?

I bought a flight case the other day, cheap as it was 2nd hand but unused apart from having some foam removed for a camera body. My lenses are in there and I've added a few packs of silca gel aswell. Can't see anything bad happening to them in there.

Much as I admire Mark's bling factor, I keep my lenses in a camera bag as A) That's what they're designed for, and B) the bags appear to be breeding so may as well serve some purpose.

bling factor ???

nothing "bling" in there some lenses cost more than my entire collection

i prefer to have them all in one place rather than multiple bags and just take the ones i'm going to use on the day with me
the case stays at home :)

In my camera bags, with a few bags of silica gel in there. Always have. All my gear has always been mint. Camera bags are more than adequate to protect them for storage and not in use. I'd only consider a pelicase or similar when transporting the larger lenses in checked in baggage on flights. Ordinarily, Longer lenses are kept in my lowepro rucksack, and smaller lenses in my Gladstone 11a bag.
